Ralph Lauren's fall 2012/13 runway show

Downton Abbey continues to inspire.

Please chime in with your thoughts about Ralph Lauren's Fall line.

I have many, but will hold onto them until I hear from you.

I will tell you this, I am a fan of Ralph Lauren and I am also a fan of  men's wear for women, so Mr Lauren's clothing has always appealed to me for that as well as its clean lines and sharply defined details.
This is why when his show was posted on the 1912 face book page I raced to see it.
Don't cheat yourself stay to the end as it runs from day wear to evening wear.

I am also a fan of vintage styles, which he often gives a nod to and so my sensibilities generally find satisfaction on his runway.
You always know what you can expect from him and I like that.
Do you prefer your designers to provide a safe haven for your style or do you like to be surprised each season?

So....
will you be including any of these ideas into your 2012 wardrobe?
Love or hate the jewelry?
Will you be wearing gold soon?
Feathers?
leather?
Wool plaid?
cloche hats...I wish....

  1. I love it! I love the tailoring, the beading, the period influences, the jewelry, the hats, the shoes...I could go on and on. I may start wearing shirts and ties, but not jodhpurs - my hips are big enough as it is. :)

    1. Meggola if your like me, its not that my hips are already large enough but that my legs are to short to support the width-lol Yeah...that's the problem.

    2. Yes, you are correct - my legs are way too short to support the width!

    1. There is a lot to hang your hat on isn't there? What were those gold dresses made from? The movement was glorious!

    1. So nice right? I did feel there was a lot of tobacco and khaki with the choice of wool and would have prefered to see more options there, but the faire isle sweaters and vests....oh my:)

  5. I was in drooly textile awe of all of it. Of course, jodphurs would make me look like Tumnis the fawn, but hey, what price stylishness?

    1. Textile awe....indeed. So the consensus so far is that the jodphurs are right out, but easily adapted to a skinny style or a front pleat trouser.

  6. I loved it all....of course, the jodphurs are out, and I could use a bit more vibrant color, but the styles and cuts of the clothes were divine. The evening dresses were amazing. I loved the gold one, too. I am a big fan of hats, even though I look absolutely silly wearing them, and the jewelry was a big hit with me. Thanks for sharing! Just looking at it lightened my day;-)
