"Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work" - Aristotle
Just a reminder, to enjoy the process, to think quality and not quantity.
Reflect on your goals and achievements.
Sip a drink, smell the roses,
soak in the glorious colors and textures of your current project.
While trying to gain a new skill, don't overlook your progress so far.
Join a class, snack on some chocolate, remember to breath..just enjoy the process
A friendly reminder for myself and my friends

A friendly reminder for myself and my friends
My first blog read of the morning, and it's perfect. Just perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad:)
DeleteGlad you're focusing on enjoyment too, Lynne! and you have some great ideas, i'm especially drawn to the one that involves snacking on some chocolate ;)
ReplyDeleteJust be careful to keep some wet naps handy. You wouldn't want to get any creamy delicious chocolate on your fabrics.
DeleteAll so true - we do tend to ride in the fast lane all too much when sewing...thanks for putting on the brakes!
ReplyDeleteYes, while sewing for others the fast lane is required but while sewing for myself a pleasure cruise is lovely.
DeleteI'm also trying to remind myself that sewing is supposed to be fun and that not everything has to be functional or practical in my everyday wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Stephanie. You are so right I need to add this to my list as well. It's time to make myself a lovely cocktail dress, just for the pure enjoyment of working with silk:)
DeleteThanks, Lynne, just the reminder I needed right now! I've been so focused on the sewing I must do for clients, that when I find time to sew for myself, everything becomes harder and less enjoyable, with much less success than I'd wish. I think I really need to adopt your philosophy, and find my way back to loving to sew, rather than always feel like I'm stealing time to sew the garments I really want to make.
ReplyDeleteNice bllog you have
